Navigating Norman’s Turnpike Plans: Your Voice, Your Land
Join the Conversation: Live Q&A on OTA’s Changing Plans, Legislative Efforts, and Protecting Private Property
Welcome to the Fight for Fairness in Oklahoma’s Transportation Future
First, a huge thank you to everyone who attended our Community Turnpike Town Hall at Washington Elementary on March 12th. Your voices, questions, and concerns matter, and we are committed to getting you the answers you deserve. We’re compiling all the questions from the event and will share responses here on Substack and on a dedicated page on our website.
For those of you who are new to this fight—welcome. I wish we were meeting under better circumstances. No Oklahoman should ever have to endure the stress of eminent domain, especially for a turnpike that is unwanted, unnecessary, and unjustified.
If you’re looking to understand the full scope of what’s happening, start here. The first five blogs in this series will walk you through:
✅ The history of the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA)
✅ Their business model and how it impacts you
✅ Why these turnpikes are not about transportation—but about something much bigger
Once you see the full picture, you’ll understand what must be done to ensure that future generations never have to fight this battle again. Let’s keep going.
